Last night was the first Grand Valley Swing of the year! Only a couple people were left by the time I arrived at 9:30 since it was a 7:30 - 10 thing. (I was late on account of Tango.) Dance was held in the New Niemeyer residence. It's a really nice building. The few swingers left (all oldies from last year or before) were complaining about the timid freshmen who nervously stood in the dense mass the the corner of the room. Most of them were holding hands with their significant other and unwilling to dance. It's ok. We'll break them into the group, and freshmen will start breaking up with their boyfriends or girlfriends witin about a week or so.
Afterwards I celebrated Mike's birthday with him. Soon I'll have to find a consistent reason to tease him other than him being young...

Alan and Danielle Are Married!
Alan and Danielle are now married! The wedding was Saturday. It was pretty amazing. After five years... he started dating Danielle only a week after I started dating my first girlfriend. I'm pretty excited for them. They're one of my all-time favorite couples. Joe and Rachel are up there too.
Alan's bachelor party included laser tag and dinner at Mongolian Barbecue. That's most excellent stuff, I must say.
Also, Marie is engaged, Joe & Rachel are engaged, Christina & Jake are married, and Cherrie will be married this Friday. Mike commented on feeling like an old bachelor. I laughed on the inside (sensitive on the outside), especially since he's not even 21 yet. I don't think you're allowed to feel like that when too young to drink and still in college. I don't worry about such things because deejaying weddings has numbed me to thinking of them as much more than large social gatherings with dance and good food.
