Caffeine and Run Times

This week we were given caffeine privileges once our memorandum on the issue was signed by the company commander. Each day since, there has been a long line for Monster drinks.

Even the cadre need their Monster!

The above photo would be less blurry if I had been in less of a hurry. There's only so much time in a window of opportunity when someone in command is yawning with his tongue sticking way out. His tongue is also blue--probably from the monster. Feel free to enlarge the picture by clicking it. I almost took a picture of the cadre first sergeant picking his nose too... but decided it might end my career early.

No amount of Monster can keep OC Hill awake.

Today was dry at best because you can only spend so many hours on Troop Leading Procedures (TLP) before your brain skips out. Tomorrow, however, we'll be in the field for hands-on training. That will be nice to get out.

RUN TIMES
Before I forget to make note of this:

Friday, October 30, 2009
3 miles in 23 minutes and 8 seconds.

Monday, November 2, 2009
4 miles in 31 minutes and 19 seconds.

Eventually I'll make a spreadsheet to automatically recommend routines for my running once I'm out of OCS.

How terrible that they'd deprive people of caffeine!!! What purpose can that possibly serve? (well, okay, besides torture.)
