My new camera FINALLY arrived after two weeks in the mail room! It's really beautiful. Below is my "old" camera. It's still great for ultra-portability. It's a Canon SD850 IS. I took 3334 pictures on it since switching from the camera I took to Spain. That's not many, but I aim to improve my pace so that I get better.
Now for the G11! The view screen can fold out and flip at various angles for high shots, self-shots, around-corner shots, and more. The low light sensitivity is great, and there are a multitude of manual settings possible. Using these will allow me to grow accustomed to using more features and one day I will buy an SLR. Before I do that, I will need to get to a certain ability level. I'm not sure what that level is, but it will require that I take pictures regularly that I feel have significant artistic merit.
If you wish to see better shots of the G11, there are far better elsewhere! Just use Google. This weekend we'll do another obstacle course and I'll take pictures there on my new camera.
